Golf in Lundin Links

Lundin Links is well-known for its two golf courses:
www.lundingolfclub.co.uk
www.lundinladiesgolfclub.co.uk
...but golf has been played historically at various locations around the village as this image of Crescent Road around 1890 shows. The players on this occasion are ladies and children, with plenty on-lookers. The gable end of the original inn (to be replaced by the current Lundin Links Hotel in 1898) is visible to the extreme left. Below are a couple of more recent golf-related scenes.

Opening post of the blog. Starting with the image I chose for the main banner. At first glance, it's a familiar scene. But on closer inspection, much has changed since 1903. Long gone are the decorative metal railings and the ability to walk or cycle along the middle of the road. Every house now has a driveway and of course there are more shops and houses these days. I wonder what the lady on the left is delivering and what is being carried by the man in the centre of the picture. Wish I could step into this scene and find out more!
