
The mill buildings were badly run-down by the early 1970s. Fortunately, in the mid 1970s the mill was restored and converted into a dwelling house for Dr A Balingall by local architects. Buildings higher up on Largo Road appear behind the mill in the postcard image, which probably dates from around the turn of the century.

This was for many years a grocer's shop and even now you can just about make out the faded painted words "Wines and Spirits" and "Groceries" above the ground floor windows.
